    We take great pride in every job, and that starts with meticulous surface preparation – which, for us, includes:

    • scraping out and filling surface cracks
    • removing all loose and flaky paint
    • stripping old wallpaper if necessary
    • applying stain block to old damp patches and leak stains
    • sanding and filling woodwork
    • applying knotting solution to any new woodwork
    • removing radiators if necessary
    • sanding ceilings and walls for a smooth surface and good key
    • sizing walls before wallpapering
    • cross-lining walls, if needed, with a quality lining paper before wallpapering.

    And when we start decorating, this attention to detail continues. We use only the best quality paints – usually Dulux, unless you request another brand. On ceilings and walls, we use two full coats, and on woodwork, we use a primer, undercoat and one or two coats of gloss or satinwood. When wallpapering, we always use anti-fungal paste – and we unscrew light switches and sockets to paper or paint behind them, giving the neatest possible finish.

    If painting and decorating is part of a larger building or refurbishment project, and you need help from other trades, we can put you in touch with reputable builders, electricians, plumbers, plasterers, joiners and carpet fitters – who all share our commitment to quality and service.

    Whether we’re working in your home or a commercial property, we take great care to safeguard the contents. This includes:

    • moving or covering all furniture
    • covering all carpets and other flooring, and masking around the edges
    • covering all units and worktops in kitchens and bathrooms
    • erecting dust screens across doorways, if needed, to stop dust spreading around the house.

    We leave your property as we found it – or even tidier – with a thorough clean-up after the job’s done.

    From your initial enquiry to finishing the job, you’ll find us responsive and attentive. Within 24 hours of receiving your call or email, we’ll arrange a suitable time to come and assess the work. Then you’ll receive our quotation within seven days or less, and once we’ve agreed the price and timescales, we’ll confirm the start date and time – and that’s exactly when we’ll arrive.

    When these details are confirmed, we ask for a deposit, which you can pay by BACS transfer, cash, cheque or credit card. Then you know your job’s booked in, and you can look forward to seeing your property improved – or even transformed.
